If the Press and Headlines Turn into Intimidation – The Di Bello Case

As the Jdentità Bianconera Foundation, we struggle to understand why the club’s management does not deem it necessary to publicly address the usual one-sided narrative.

Newspapers and commentators, particularly among those who have turned anti-Juventus sentiment into a sort of profession, continue to focus solely on the incident involving Iling and Ndoye in the Juventus penalty area, completely ignoring other incidents blatantly against the Bianconeri. This perpetuates the usual wave of venom that tarnishes the passion of millions of fans and once again leads to verbal and physical tensions and violence.

In our opinion, what is particularly concerning is the fact that referee Di Bello is suspended for two months following the match, with the leadership of the Italian Referees’ Association (AIA), which some fanatics insist is subservient to Juventus, publicly intervening—clearly plastered across the front pages—stating that the sole incident against Bologna is a grave fault. The not-so-subtle message appears to be: Referees, take heed, those who do not make calls against Juventus risk months of suspension. We find this type of communication management by the Federation, AIA, and the entire press unacceptable. While newspapers do what suits them to sell clicks and copies, one would expect the sole objective of federal entities to be the proper management of the game of football.

Are we asking for too much? We will continue to maintain a high level of scrutiny, but the start of the season is already overshadowed by serious attitudes.
